LOTS of pictures ahead….FYI.
This past weekend was Justin’s very first Father’s Day. He was actually not in town most of the weekend though. He signed up to run a 3 day 60 mile race in Chattanooga, TN that went Friday-Sunday. He came back in town yesterday around 3pm. And Carter and I get him all to ourselves for two whole weeks!!! It’s the little things…
Anyway, since there’s construction going on at my in-laws and they don’t have a grill, we decided to have the family over to our house to have Father’s Day dinner. Oh I guess I haven’t mentioned that on the blog. My in-laws have a 5 bedroom 3 1/2 bath and they decided it wasn’t big enough for the kids (ok really Nana decided it wasn’t big enough) so they knocked out the deck and are in the process of building a sunroom that will be a playroom for the kids. Since they have no deck, they had no where to grill out, hence why we had to do it at our house. It was more convenient anyway since Carter’s bedtime is at 7. We were able to put him down and still enjoy family time.
We grilled out steaks and had olive garden salad and breadsticks and some yummy cookies and cream pie for dessert. We tried to get a picture of all three of the kids together but I’m starting to realize that this will probably never happen. It’s too difficult to get all three kids attention at the same time with them all smiling. There are some funny outtakes though….
I gave up eventually. Carter in particular was pretty fussy because his gums have been hurting. He was even fussy in the bath and he’s NEVER fussy in the bath. Poor baby. I gave him some Tylenol and rubbed some orajel on his bottom gum and put him straight to bed. Luckily, teething has yet to interrupt his sleep habits. Knock on wood.
Sweet boy of mine. He’s getting so big!! He got too fussy before I could get a picture with him and his daddy on Father’s Day :(
“Why play IN the exersaucer when you can play UNDER the exersaucer Auntie M!!”
It’s as if she’s incredibly proud of herself for crawling under it and making her way out of it on the other side. Go Celia!
So adorable!!!
So other happenings this weekend besides father’s day….
We tried to use the baby pool outside and let little man play in it. He was good for a while, but then he was done. I think he’s still getting used to cold water instead of the warm water he gets in a bath.
Swimming in a pool of letters. He really likes playing with the letters. Okay, let’s be honest, he just wants to eat them.
We are loving reaching for Gizmo these days. This would be Gizmo drinking Carter’s pool water and Carter about to fall face first into the pool trying to reach for the dog.
And this is when he decided he was done with the pool. He tipped over in the middle of this picture being taken and fell on his back into the water. He wasn’t a fan of the cold water on his back. We were done after that.
I finally managed to get a somewhat decent photo of Carter’s first tooth:
And I also found something that Carter loves to do when he wakes up from nighttime sleep and naps:
We LOVE to play with the music mobile on the crib.
And last but not least, our favorite thing to do during bathtime these days:
Chowing down on these bath letters makes his gums feel better.
And that was our weekend! Hope your holiday weekend was great as well!
